<PERFORMANCE PIPELINING, INC. (PPI): GENERAL FAQ

Performance Pipelining, Inc. PPI

How much will the liner reduce the pipe diameter? The liner wall thickness is 3mm (1/8") for a 4" pipe leaving a pipe diameter of 3.75" and the liner wall thickness is 4.5mm (3/16") for a 6" pipe leaving a pipe diameter of 5.625.

Is this reduced pipe diameter a bad thing?

No, in fact due to the smooth bore of the liner.often flow rate is increased compared to the old pipe.

Will the liner wrinkle at bends? If the bend is a sweep fitting, the liner typically does not wrinkle. If, the fitting is a hard bend, the liner will produce some wrinkling on the inside curve of the bend.
Do you need to grout first? Only if infiltration is excessive

How many can be installed in a day? As many as 10 on our best day and as many as 1 on our worst day.

Will your liner stick to the old pipe?

Some times it sticks and some times it does not stick. No manufacturer or contractor can tell you when the liner sticks and how well it is stuck to the pipe. There is grease in sewer pipes and some sewer pipes are made of polyethylene or have a polyethylene coating, which nothing will stick to. The T-Liner is a full circle sleeve that fits tight against the old pipe with extra resin that migrates out from the T-Liner mechanically locking our liner into the old pipes open joints or fractures.

How long will the liner last?

Our study reports a service life of 100 hundred years and is certified by a PHD based on our liners physical properties.

Does the resin smell like strong chemicals? We use standard resin that is typical in the CIPP market place for mainline lining. We also have a odor-free, non hazardous resin that is used in special applications such as in restaurants, hospitals, schools and Industrial piping.
